Go-to item #1

Reading about other people's go-to fashion items that they always come back to made me think about my own. After thinking about it I didn't really have any particular item stand out, but this morning I saw this little beauty. My Topshop floral romper has proved to be more practical than most might consider and is actually probably the only go to item I could come up with. Let's see what other go-to items I rediscover or acquire...

shredded

I diy'ed this tank top by shredding it a few months ago. I forgot about it and rediscovered it today. Oh how I missed my big bun on the top of my head...

70s

I love the 70s and am usually drawn to either 70s or 60s inspired pieces. I found this dress the other day and was pleased to find a little denim dress-something I had been searching for for a while with no luck. I paired it with penny loafers and a self-made flower headband.

White Jeans

White jeans...Oh, white jeans. Oh. God. I had always thought that if there is any item of clothing that one should avoid, and when I say one, I mean literally almost everyone except those rare, rare exceptions. I never thought of trying them myself, but I found a pair and decided to try them on. I ended up buying them, if for no other reason just to have them to wear for the day I feel like trying the almost-impossible. Two days ago was that day...
Bonus: light blue denim shorts (almost white)...Wow, I guess I am more prone to fashion dont's than I thought

the little wooden bag

I bought this laminated wooden bag from a vintage store a few months ago. I had spotted it about a year ago and reluctantly decided to leave it. Nearly a year later I remembered it and with hope in my heart and my wallet in my [not nearly as loveable] purse I was off to see if my purse would be there [unlikely] waiting for me. As I searched the store, it was nowhere to be found. Defeated, I decided to ask the saleswoman if by any chance she remembered the bag. A few seconds later she searched behind a display of hats and shoes and to my lovely surprise there it was. Needless to say I took no chances this time and bought my little wooden treasure. Now, it almost never leaves my sight.

the little sailor girl: Hi

Here's my blog. I am making one because, well, I want to. I've tried making them before and have gotten discouraged and stopped. Going to give it another shot and just be me. Corniness isn't normally on the agenda though but it seemed appropriate when I typed it 5 seconds ago. I like, or love fashion and have gone through stages with my style and taste although I'm still only a mid-teen. I recently purchased a new camera and am still experimenting and getting acquainted with the SLR, but am enjoying photography. If for nothing else I just want to be able to have a place to post some pictures, ramble, and track how I change (sounds more serious than what I actually intend.) So here it goes...
